Getting I/o Errors And My System Won't Defrag

Hi!

I am using Win7, with BitDefender Total Security and the I/O errors started when I tried to install the newer version of Qbittorrent. Then it won't let me save items in my Libraries folders or even create a new folder in Libraries. I tried to run Malwarebytes which I have on my computer and it wouldn't let me run it - said something about I don't have permission - so I tried to remove it from my Control Panel, and it said I couldn't remove it because of some missing dll file so I tried to just reinstall it over the old one and I got the same message (sorry, I didn't write it down). I even tried rebooting my machine and still got the same error message. I just closed my laptop, but left it sleeping, and the next day when I opened it back up, Malwarebytes was removed! I installed it again and it ran fine! I also made the big mistake of signing up for Big Fish games and I had a HELL of a time getting the any games I purchased to properly load (turned off my BitDefender and then they loaded ok). I will no longer use Big Fish games and from now on will only BUY games since it's given me so much trouble (but I got free game and another game I wanted for only $2 - that's how they sucked me in!) I haven't had any more I/O errors, but my defrag will not work.


I've attached my log files. I did see Roguekiller showed a lot of PUP files. I also use a paid version of Incredimail which I will NOT give up, but for some reason there were PUP files coming from my Incredimail!?!?

Thanx a bunch as always! I'm sure you'll tell me to use Roguekiller to get rid of all those PUP and PUM files, but I'm wondering why my defrag doesn't work? It won't even open when I click on it. It does absolutely nothing.

 

Well, I guess your issues will continue then!

Incredimail is software scurvy and should be dumped.
Its known to cause many issues with other processes running on your system apart from the PUP's and PUM's.
One must frown at any software thats notoriously difficult to un-install also.

 

O2 - BHO: (no name) - MRI_DISABLED - (no file) is listed as bad.

See this thread from MG's but do not copy the listed instructions given (every system is different).

Best to post a new thread in Malware Help - MG (A specialist will reply)
and follow the Read and Run Me First as per instructed.

 

I'm sorry but I REALLY like my Incredimail. I've been using it for yrs and I like it cuz I like all the little pics I can put into my emails. I ran it for yrs w/no issues until recently.

 

I did follow the Read and Run Me First page. I do see one thing I didn't do - which I see now (I have the Read and Run Me First page bookmarked so that I follow the instructions) which was to disable my antivirus. My fault. I was doing too many things at one time and I wasn't paying close attention. I'll do that now. And I will post to Malware Help for a specialist (I just posted to the reg forum for anyone to reply) Thanx!

None of us like change Dawn, its human nature.

There are far superior email clients out there as freeware.

I always tell everyone.......if you want to play in todays networked world, moving with the times is a big plus!

Thanx! I have Outlook Express, but it won't let me save my animations and pics w/sayings I've made in categories. I'm gonna be 60 next yr and change is VERY hard for me! I won't even use a 'scrolly' phone as. I call it. cuz it makes my head hurt. Even Kiosks don't like me. I think I press too hard on the screen, so I'm trying to adapt to that. It's like the idiot you see in the elevator - if the doors don't close right away, they keep hitting the button for their floor (NO, I'm not as bad as that w/elevators)! What else do you suggest that I could use? I did pay for Incredimail so I didn't get the advertisements, so I was hoping I guess that I was a bit safer. It also had a letter creator and I made a bunch of backgrounds using that too. Anything you know of that's like Incredimail? I have deleted all of the free animations they have on their website. I think that's where I got the PUPs from as I just downloaded a bunch just recently - don't know why cuz I never use them - I like the ones I've made instead. And I had to purchase Adobe CS5 cuz CS2 won't run right on WIN7. I had a work around for using CS2 to work on Win7, but something happened to GoLive - yeah, I know - OLD software but it was what I learned in college back in the early 200's when I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up!) I'm trying to get used to Dreamweaver, Photoshop isn't too bad and Illustrator is about the same. I have a website so having to switch to Dreamweaver is hard. I wanted to take a class, but they're all online and I need face to face interaction to learn! Thanx again and someone from the MG forum is helping me. I feel so overwhelmed sometimes w/all the new technology. My brain just doesn't bend and learn like it used to! I used to learn things SOOOO fast and RETAIN them - now I have a hard time remembering what I ate the previous day!! Actually what I NEED to do is to reformat my drive and reload all my software but WHAT A PAIN! At some point I'm sure I'll have to get a newer laptop and use WIN10 (which I'm dreading - took me 6 months to go from XP to learn WIN7!! You should have heard all the cussing that went on!!)
