Getting No sound

I'm getting no sound. I just did the system restore on this pc.

It was working fine, but as soon as I installed the video driver, it seems that I know longer have sound.

The monitor on this pc has the attached speakers. What should I do? Is this a driver problem or a connection problem?

Try the basics first:

Check that your speakers are working and plugged in. Yeah, I know. We're going really basic here

Look in your device manager, and look for your sound card. If it has a yellow exclamation point or question mark then the driver did not install right, and will need to be reinstalled. Uninstall it first, reboot the computer, then install it again.

 

One thing that has happened to me in the past, when I lose sound all of a sudden, is that I've accidentally hit the mute button on my keyboard. Easy to miss, especially when one is tinkering with a lot of serious things.
