I have one game I would dearly love to play, but it is from 1997.

It's called "Crush! Deluxe" and IMHO it was great fun.

I am running Win XP v5.1 SP3 using Parallels on my 2.16Ghz MacBook Pro (2G RAM)

I have tried all the possible variants in the 'compatibility mode' settings with no luck, it just crashes.

    Tried updating DirectX, no joy!

Has anyone got any tips? Can I throttle back speed somewhere or something?

    thanks in advance.

Are you familiar with DOSBox at all? That might be your best bet.

I have tried dosbox too, I will try it again, but I think I remember it saying "this is a windows game" kind of thing when I tried it!

    Hi

I think you maybe out of luck as if memory serves you actually do need a Windows based PC and not a MAC running Parallels for old games sadly.

but you could try the old trick of runing the game Windowed as in rigth click the exe or shortcut of the game and in the target box add a space after the text already there then -w and see if that works.
