Getting Qemm To Work On Win98se System

I have QEMM on a Win98SE system--I think it's version 97--and want to get it to work. When the DOS mode driver loads, the system hangs. The keyboard responds and everything; the system just stops booting. I asked elsewhere, and the verdict seems to be that QEMM is incompatible with my system. Is there anything I can do to get QEMM to work? BTW, the system is at my mother's house, and the earliest I might be there is this weekend.

 

Do you really need a memory manager for win98? I was under the impression that program was for dos use with very small amounts of ram.

 

It is mainly for DOS. I want it to increase the memory available in a particular DOS mode configuration.
