getting rid of stuff from System32 folder in XP?

    hey out there all...
    it would appear that my System32 folder has tons and tons and tons of stuff in it. what can i safely get rid of? it can't all be necessary,right? thanks.

    Aside from the registry, that's the GUTS of your machine.

    Right-click on System32. Click Properties. When it stops whirring, you shd see that it has about 6,000 files in it, and about 180 folders. The size shd be about 1 Gig, give or take a megabyte.

    Mess around in there? NOT!

    Good call. System and System32 and most files in the root of C:\, C:\Windows and C:\ProgramFiles (except leftover files from uninstalled programs in ProgramFiles) should not be messed with. Pretty good rule to live by.
