GFX temps

The 7650GS in my Medion MD8818 started blue screening recently but would run absolutely fine in safe mode at 1280 x 1024 for hours on end so it looked like a driver issue. However the problem was afflicting all three installs on this PC - Win 7, XP and Win 8 RP so seems it must be hardware. The card has a passive cooler so I removed that, cleaned the GPU and cooler best I could, applied some thermal grease and tried again. It's now working again but the temps look a bit high to me so I'm expecting it to drop out again soon. It's currently registering about 62° C :eek

My question is whether 62° is abnormal for a passively cooled gpu and if not whether there is anything else I can do to lower the temperature. When I attach an 8400GS it always runs at less than 50° but that card does have a fan. However that card has DirectX 10 which is incompatible with XP so I really want to get the 7650 working reliably again and be able to use all three systems.
