ghost network card

i am trying to set a ip add for my network card but it is telling me i have a phisical network card which is hidden

What I can advise you with the amount of info you've posted is to try and look in device manager (XP: Right click my computer, select properties, hardware tab, push device manager 9X: Right click my computer, select properties, device manager tab). From here, you can see if your NIC is listed, and if so select it for removal/reinstallation.
