don't know what it is with the pic but it almost looks fake to me, looks like a cartoon drawing... what background is that taken against???

you want to see a big mouth, check the Luna moth... saw one of those hovering near a lamp post, was the size of a large bat... they are light colored (whitish) which is kinda pretty but it's HUGE...

As previously stated, the pic was taken (today) outside our door...more specifically, it's the wall (which is some kind of stucco) outside our door...the moth is still there.

I have seen bigger moths than this..this one was/is just a little to 'up close' for my comfort level but couldn't resist taking a pic of it.

@ Wraith..LMAO..assuming you're talking about email, pictures I can handle...it's when they are 'real' and might touch me in some way that I get skittish.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/star17abby/embarrassed.gif So! Don't EVEN THINK!!! about sending anything by US mail! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/star17abby/yikes.gif lol

This critter landed on me during a recent trip to Niagara Falls. There is a butterfly conservatory nearby (I dunno why . . . are we short of butterflys?)

I found this moth outside my apartment one morning in Indianapolis. Never seen one like it before or after, so I am unsure of the type. Anyone have a clue?

Nice to see somone here from Indiana.

I've seen some moths that were fairly large. As large as a basketball. Then again, I remember seeing these as a small child in southern Indiana.

Also I hear that pet grizzly bears are very fond of moths:
