Hi. i noticed that my processor was at 62.C after my pc spontaineously rebooted, and I guessed that my current heatsink wasn't cutting it. I've heard good things about the gigabyte g power pro.

    Is it the best available?

    Thanks, Pete.

    hey m8,

im running a 3.0 ghz p4 prescott atm, i was using my stock cooler until i hit 86 degrees and decided it was time to fork out for a replacement! lol.

i purhcased the gigabyte g power pro, a good cooler, with the 4 heat pipes deisgn etc etc, how ever i find it is relativley noisey, not overly noisey, but all the fans in my comp atm are either akasa ambers, which run at 20dba and below or hyper which run at 20 dba. Im runing the akasa ev0 120 at the moment. It quietest noise output is just 15da! amazingly quiet. altho i found that both coolers are more or less teh same in performance the evo 120 is quieter, altho it is larger, and doesnt look quite as sexy, its upto you to decided, wether you want looks or temperatures.

Also check that the evo 120 will fit your mobo b4 u buy as it is a relativley tall cooler. Either the 120 or something from zalman to keep ur cpu ice cool ;)

    hope this helps :)

The Zalman CNPS9500 gets some good reviews, plus isnt over noisey either due to the design, which is most PC cases allows the HSF to directly be in-line with a rear case fan, thus moving the warm air from the HS out.

one review I was reading http://www.techgage.com/review.php?id=3823

its a pretty big cooler but it can be mounted up or down meaning you can have the fan blowing towards the rear exhaust fan or you can mount it with the fan blowing towards the psu, which is how mine is installed because it was to tight a fit between the north bridge cooler and the power supply. it has plenty of room on mine this way it blows the heat towards the psu which has a fan on the bottom so it exhausts that route. as im sitting here now with the temp inside the case at 102degf my p4 is 97.7degf. im using speed fan to monitor the temps if it matters. when gaming i dont remember exact temps but ive never seen it go over 110degf. using arctic silver 5 also. sorry for the long drawn out post i tend to do that lol. hope it helps.:)
