I would Riot if i was for this. I would not of known if it was not for a friend calling and telling me to stay put for awhile because every gas station in Hawkinsville was out of gas and those that was not was charging $4.50 a gallon. Is there anyone else seeing this right now? Here in Texas the price has not changed one cent

Yeserday, and no one seems to know exactly how this started, but the people who wholesale the gas, started a rumor(?) about a gas shortage in the S.E. because of Ike. But there is no shortage, and stations were selling gas for $5.00 a gallon when on thursday it 3.44.
It has seemed to settle down, but I tell you old Sonny is hell of a guy, I wish he was our governor, heck no our president!
He don't stand for bull, and he is tough!
So for good Sonny, and in the meantime we are paying 4.50 now, while it is settling down...

It seems to have topped out around $3.99 a gallon. But a lot of stations are out or only have premium. Crazy rumors were going around yesterday.

Good for me there is no beer shortage. Oops, I mean Cerveza. I felt all worldly and got some La Cerveza del Pacifico. :-D

Ahem, since we have not built a refinery in 30 + years. (The Valero corp I believe was the last to do so.).....

The gas refined in Houston and Lousy-anna is all shipped East and North. They have stations in Charlotte, NC and Richmond, VA that are without gas. Momentary interruption. Our gas is refined in CALIFORNIA from oil from California oilfields. They will raise our prices over this eventually. You can find Texas gas that is refined in West Texas or right nearby there is a plant over in Borger.

Lousy-anna? Why if that was not true, I would be offended...:-D You know more natural gas is shipped through Louisiana than any other state? We are the keepers of the funky smelling stuff!

    Here in Belgium
It has just been announced on the radio that gas is going up at midnight because of Ike.

the wholesale price of gas has fallen from 150$ to 101$ over the last month but they did not drop the price, so a bit of profiteering is going on

that means we are paying about 6$ a gallon

How much is it going up Bill? Someone is making a killing on this somewhere. I am looking into buying some oil futures early next spring. Stuff seems to go up every year...

Gas prices have always been higher in Europe than the US that's why you see so many compacts here, unless you are a company and can write it off to tax it's very expensive to own a muscle car.

gas is going up about 45 cents US.

the cost of gas in the UK is even higher

Couldn't agree more! Just looked up the price of gas in Holland and they're quoting $6.4430 a USA gallon. Taxes on gas have always been high there. I always thought that Europe didn't depend on American oil, rather from Russia and the middle east. :confused

As soon as a hurricane is announced the prices go up and also through political unrest somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I think it's just price gouging and giving all kinds of nonsense reasons to "justify" the raising of gas prices.

I would be hesitant buying stock in anything right now.

I hear you there Darlene! I do know a guy who just made some nice money on the market. I don't know enough or have enough $ to risk in stock. ESPECIALLY futures.

But gas just keeps on going up every year. On the surface, it sounds like a sure thing.
