Hi, I've encountered a problem using the "wipe free space" option in Glary Utilities: I've never bothered using this option, before- but when I did- the program ran for quite some time & then I got the dreaded blue screen saying Windows XP has encountered a problem & shut down, after a memory dump. The short of it is: I've got everything working.......but after checking the files with a defragmenter- a lot of that free space appeared as being fragmented...so, I did a boot defrag & NOW it appears I've lost over 100 GB of what WAS free space.

I don't know how to get that free space back- tried a system restore, but the taken space remains. Looking at what files are taking most of the "old space" it looks like my paging file is over a gig & something called GDELTEMP is taking 71.73 GB.

I'm on dial-up with an older XP MCE, so anyway to get my free space back without a reinstall, requiring me to download all the updates, including that huge SP3 will be appreciated ;)

(in the mean time, I've still a lot of free space on my HD)

:) Never mind- I found out one may delete the GDELTEMP file w/o adverse effects & it appears to have been the main culprit. I overestimated the lose of free space....sorry & thanks, anyhow.
