A virus scan with "Avast" found a trojan/worm virus in Glary Utilities 2.14.0.711, I downloaded from http://majorgeeks.com/Glary_Utilities_d5870.html.
Because MG say they test all the software they put up on the website, I suggested to Avast that it was "a false positive". Avast came back with: "thank you for sending sample, but it is not false positive. This virus affects systems with Delphi software development environment (http://blog.avast.com/2009/08/19/win32induc-new-concept-of-file-infector/), so products compiled with them are infected.
You should contact author of this software to disinfect his Delphi and create new release of his product, if it's not already done."
I have not opened the programme on my computer yet, does anyone have any comments or suggestions?
    Happy geeking to all.

    Hi

I know that the developer of that app is a legit one and wouldnt use infected development apps, and I know we do here test all downloads, which is why we dont offer all the ones other download sites do.

But I just downloaded this, but the link we have and was updated on same day that the AVAST blog post is from is version Glary Utilities 2.15.0.738 not 2.14.0.711 and as I have Avast (updated to latest defs and app) and tested the download on a well respected malware canning site Jotti, I find nothing bad with that download at all, even Jotti that uses latest defs from many antivirus apps scan engines finds nothing (even Avast) as the AVAST blog states the latest version they scan as clean, likely hence why its not flagging from me.

Hopefully you can see my scan of the downloaded exe http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanr...0886/eab30fffba1c6bfe7aa281c871a7405f86797aaf

Plus installed and ran it and Avast finds nothing, likely hence the latest version that MGs offers and did so from 2009-08-18 a day before that Blog post, so if this "proof of concept" is in the wild then this developer has got his act together, plus our webmasters for updating it.

Thanks for flagging it up, but with latest version, this app and even Avast say its ok, so if you have an older version downloaded before 2009-8-18 then uninstall and install the latest.
