Gmail Security - Is It More Secure To Use More Than One Gmail?

    Hi team,

I am planning on setting up two gmail addresses. One to use for work and anything official while the other one I will use for things like YouTube and signing up to random forums.

My first gmail address will include my name in it (incase I need to apply for jobs), but I don't want it to be linked in any way to my other gmail address that I will use on YouTube.

Does anyone know if there is anything I need to do before setting these two up? For example, if I save both logins to the gmail into Microsoft Edge, does that mean a hacker would be able to see an association between the two email addresses?

I would like to be able to easily login as myself to check my work emails and then switch to the other gmail when I want to check out YouTube or ask a question on a public forum.

All you will need to do is to sign in to separate google accounts with each email and they are kept secure of each other in Googles cloud.

Who you decide to give these email addresses to online, is key to account security.

For free encrypted mail, give protonmail a look.

Just to clarify, are you saying that if I have multiple google accounts on my computer all signed in at once, it is still secure and the emails are no associated with each other?

Or are you saying I must always sign out and then login to the next google account separately and never be logged in to both at the same time?

I am already signed in to multiple accounts, I am just wanting clarification that this is secure? It was unclear from replicators message if he/she was saying I need to sign out of one account and then sign in to another one manually every single time to ensure security.

Also, is protonmail any more secure than gmail? I figured with Google being a large company they would have the most resources to invest in security.

My primary concern is an immature, but technologically savvy brother who likes to spy on others.

So a big concern is keeping my known email (that he would know) completely separate from any other emails I use online so he cannot use the one email to find my forum accounts that are logged in under a different gmail. Would protomail help achieve that?

I have read the protonmail page, but my lack of knowledge around IT security makes it difficult to judge whether it is simply offering the same thing that I assume gmail would offer.

Security is not dependant on how many accounts you are signed into.

Your problem is with your brother...
    Do the following:
    1. Change your passwords and don't allow your browser to save them.
    2. Enable 2-step verification.

Thanks, yes my problem is with my brother.

I am curious about the Protonemail, do you know about the security benefits that it would have over gmail?
