Gods Pharmacy

My mother sent me this, I'm not a man of god and would personally say this is Mother Natures Pharmacy, but this is how it was written so......

*It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...

God left us great clues as to what foods help what part of our body!
    God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye.. and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All o f the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart.. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

You got that right!:drink:-D Ya, I've seen that kind of claptrap for 50 years as my mom was into all this nutrition/herbology. However, I urge everyone to eat these foods as they are not only tasty, but good for you too. Certainly not because of some resemblance to human parts.:) Should we crunch on brain coral to improve our brains? Oh, tomatos don't give up the lycopine unless the skin is cooked along with the fruit(ketchup is a great source:drool) and red wine has more of the phytochemicals that are heart healthy than white.

As to figs, well try to sell that to Asians who believe rhino horns and bear gall bladders are the ticket.rolleyes :-D I'll take the figs any day!:drool

On the carrots and eyes, still a bit hit and mis in Ophth circles and jury is out, while carrots do have beta-carotene a source of VitA needed for healthy skin and fighting off infection, eatting them wont make your eyesight better, it "could" however help the retinal pigment layer to stay healthy and ward of age related eye diseases, although iirc the resaech on this deemed the doses to be beneficial where that high they likely would be toxic. However a good diet and VitA, Zinc, Lutein and Xanthine "may help" hold back the aging process on the eye.

The misnomer of of carrots are good for eyes was hightened in WWII as the UK gov issued false reports that their pilots where good in the dark due to eatting plenty of carrots.

If only god had made a food to cure the hundreds of different genetic cancers he gave us.

I find it ironic the church that preaches this as evidence of god is the same church that would execute people for performing scientific procedures on the human body,it's only in the last century or so that scientists have been allowed to discover the body's sub structures and their function without the church stopping them.

That article is a perfect example of how to construct a convincing conspiracy theory, embolden small connections while diminishing everything else,I'm not tryna burst you or your mothers bubble Nedlamar but a lot of us see these kind of article's all the time which try to link faith with science and pretty much all of them are in Augie's words "Claptrap".

lol you guys, Don't get me wrong here. I posted it cos it's just kind of cool that some of it is right, the whole God part was just already there. But you have to admit that reguardless of goodness, the resmblence of some of them is spooky.......

@Halo... Finally someone else who knows about the WW2 carrots thing! Wasn't it some form of attempt to get the enemy to eat poisoned crops?

Funny thing is, I once proved beyond a shadow of doubt that carrots can help you see in the dark. I took a carrot and hollowed it, then stuck a bulb in 1 end wires and a battery in the other, voila Carrot Torch (flashlight) lol

Exactly Halo, the Brits wanted something plausible for the Nazis to understand why they were getting trounced in the air when radar came on board!:-D

However, a deficiency in Vit A is causing a lot of blindness in the 3rd world in young children. I'm one who subscribes to proper nutrition to keep the vitamin levels up. Getting extra Beta-carotene is OK as one's body excretes the excess just like Vit. C and other water solubles but one can OD on fat soluble Vitamins like Vitamin A.

You limies remember scurvy eh?:-D A deficiency is a horrible chronic disease. Rickets is another example, soft bones because of a lack of Vit. D to absorb calcium(one needs both) and on and on.

EDIT: Oh, another supposed myth is the iron content contained in spinach, apparently the researcher inadvertently moved the decimal point thereby starting that one! Still, spinach is an excellent source of other nutrients and besides, it tastes good.:)

That's my point about conspiracy theories emboldening facts that support an argument or point of view, there are hundreds of different vitamins and minerals in each type of fruit that help many parts of the body but these are omitted and only the ones that point out a connection are printed.

So people google a tomato and the heart and indeed find there is a chemical that helps heart function so they take the article as truth, what needs to be done though is list all the constituents of a tomato vitamins, minerals ect. then look up which parts of the body they help.

Ok Rikky, you're taking this waaaay more seriously than I am. I just thought it was cool, I wasn't about to hold a seminar about it lol

Given that pretty much ANYTHING to do with god cannot be proven I take anything related to the subject with a large 2KG bag of salt. I wasn't trying to start a conspiracy or try to bring the froum to it's knees with "God is Great" stuff, I just thought I'd post it for interest's sake, my point being it's uncanny the similarities, chemical truths or not.
The heart does have 4 chambers as does a tomatoe, celery etc does look like bones etc, in fact I might make a "Food Man" and chuck a few thousand volts through it to see if I can get him to do my housework :-D
Although it would take more than a few thousand volts to get my 16y/o son to do the dishes lol

    Hi Ned

No its a good post, interesting how we can in some forum believe some of the "old wifes tales" on foods, I guess though in moderation most foods are beneficial in some degree, liek the tomatos one, they are good for you an good in antitoxants but only when cooked (weirdly tomato sauce is high in antitoxants),

On the WWII and carrots it was as Augie described a rouse to fool the natzis, I'd need to look this up but the story from the Defence Office, was so good in promoting that UK pilots could see great in the dark that the puplic started eatting more carrots to help them get around during the blackout.

@Augie, I agree on deficiencies and its cropping up more now in things like scurvy as the western diet is not great due to fast and processed foods that are lower in vitamins than that of fresh, think I mentioned to you that instances of Diabetes in the young (MODY) is increasing in many countries, leading to sight issues.

But has to be something to be said about your post Ned, is it promotes healthy eatting and while the jury is out on some of the claims, the foods listed are healthy and do give the body essential vits and minerals.

And my point being without a chemical link to each vegetable,it isn't interesting and the similarities aren't uncanny,I'm sorry :-D

Its a geek forum if you post something with words such as modern science, chemicals, cells that paints a slanted view of the world would you expect anything less?

Too serious? I'm a stickler for facts and the truth especially when it comes to science, what can I say...

lol I like you Rikky, short and to the point.
I'm going to leave you with this in mind, Science is only correct at the time of discovery. The greatest minds in Science once lead us to believe the earth was flat, smoking is good for you and man would never reach beyond the confines of this planet...........wrong , wrong and wrong again.
While science is a wonderful thing, it can never be the last word because tomorrow the scientists will find something they missed and change their minds once again.

There is God, there is Science but the only true factor that remains basically the same is Man, have faith in your family and yourself, not a book or test tube :)

BTW this is my fight against those more intelligent than I :-D

What's this got to do with what we're talking about?:-D YOU were the one who posted scientific facts under the premiss they proved a link to organs and the shape of foods,I haven't argued with the science I've argued with the premiss and the selective reasoning chosen for the article that you find spooky and uncanny.

If you follow your own advice that science is evolving system right one day then wrong the next then the links you find spooky and uncanny are even less so are they not?

Let me leave you with this :-D I'm not disagreeing with you and premiss of the article because I like being right or like arguing,I'm disagreeing because I don't want someone to read this thread and walk away with a slanted view of the world, the facts and truth are precious and we must be ever vigilant to pass only the ones we know to be such,if one person read this thread and walked away with the idea that there's a link between the shape of fruit and vegetables and their beneficial qualities then we as reasonably intelligent people have failed, remember its half truths such as this that procreated the myth of the world being flat and smoking being good for you.

P.S The article in question is passed on by religious groups to promote god and faith,it isn't passed on in the noble spirit of science which is to increase our knowledge.

  19. Nedlamar

    Nedlamar MajorGeek

lol Rikky you are a star.

At no point did I say any of it was "Fact"
And while I see your point of not wanting people to think it's a factual sheet of info, by the same token the "Fact" you have submitted to this thread may only be "Fact" for a period of time until they are proven inccorect, THAT was the point of my last thread.

And as I stated a couple of times I posted this because I thought it was cool the similarities, which are undeniably present. Science or not, a sliced carrot does resemble an eye etc etc, science cannot dissprove that fact. I found it interesting because I had never thought of food like that before. The last thing I expected was someone to get upset by it.

And once again I state I am NOT a man of god or religion. I could have edited this to be "Mother Natures Pharmacy" and I'm gonna hazzard a guess you would not have got nearly as upset by it. Proof that the word "God" has much more impact on those who don't believe than they would like to admit.

You need to chill out, I posted for fun, nowhere did I say anything was fact and anyone who would randomly read a post on an internet forum such as this and take it as gospel truth and fact without even trying to verify it is clearly not intelligent enough to understand anything you said lol

Go read my other post about diary of a dog, I posted that for fun too......you may read it and post in there the scientific "Fact" that dogs and cats do not keep diaries nor do they know how to write let alone type something on a PC. :p
To me, both hold just as much fact as each other, both were for fun in their own respects :)

Bloody scientists, one day they will discover a sense of humor :p

I will say this, anyone who read my post and was either offended by it or took it as fact and didn't reap the benefits it suggests you may gain, then I apologize. My intention was not to educate or offend but merely to share something I found interesting.

Ever noticed how telling someone to stop getting upset or to chill out has the opposite effect? I haven't made any comments about your state of mind or what you need to do,I can though easily, you need to chill out,you need to learn to let people disagreeing with what you post slide, but this doesn't help anyone.

FYI I'm not upset I'm amicably disagreeing with what you posted and pointing out its flaws,at no point did I say you said it was all fact, read back,I said 'you posted facts under a premiss' all I have done like I said is disagree with the premiss which you have repeated many times that there's a spooky resemblance to fruit and the organs of the body,it is not spooky or uncanny its coincidence and a vague one at that.

And your comment about god affecting me,I would have posted the same no matter what the title, read some of my posts,if someone makes a post that the Bermuda triangle makes planes disappear or the beneficial chemicals vegetables contain relate to their shape then I post the truth that its just a coincidence, the word god doesn't enter into the equation.

If your gonna get your panties in a twist every time someone disagrees with what you post then don't post on a forum, stop taking everything so seriously, get a sense of humour, that last line was just a taste of your own medicine :p

I would like to point out that at no time in human history has anyone really suggested the world was flat.

Columbus actually was trying to suggest that the earth was pear shaped.

    Rikky.

It would seem we both have a misunderstanding, I find this common when speaking in text form, the ability to "read" someone is severely affected when no tone of voice or facial expressions are present.
I have at no point become defensive in an agitated manner and it would seem from your post, nor have you.

The points are, I posted it for no other reason than I found it interesting, you found it somewhat offensive in the form it is factually incorrect and is somehow trying to sway peoples minds using incorrect information. I never read that deep into it.

Fair play, I don't wish to argue or make enemies, just here for some chat and advise when needed and if/where I can, give a little back.
If I have upset you then I apologize.

Also my remarks on your emotions were meant to try and show I was trying to keep it light, certainly they were not meant to cause more offense so once again I apologize.

My post was trash to begin with, I just felt you were a little OTT with your reply, that be the case or not, lets just forget about it :)

Peace to you and yours :)

Because it is,what you posted is what's known as chain mail spam, specifically religious chain mail spam a pretty insidious type ,this exact email has being floating around the internet for years its been posted on here quite a few times, they are designed to be interesting so you pass them on but many times contain deliberate misinformation and myth.

Most people on here delete this stuff as soon as they get it without even reading it then block the sender,if my mum had sent me this I would block her :-D Well I'd have to unblock her first, but then I would block her again :-D

I hope that goes a way to explaining why I had to disagree with what it contained and you can see now that rather than being OTT I've been rather tolerant and respectful,as have all the members here a credit to MG's friendliness ,these threads can be interesting and fun at times and can promote healthy discussion so yeah post away as far as I'm concerned,no apology needed and you could never upset or make an enemy of me.:)

    Your friend Rikky.

I realise this type of stuff comes in email form, I delete them too, they annoy me. But this particular one my mother told me about on the phone along with a couple of jokes and I asked her to email them.

I had never seen it before, if I had known it had been around for years I would not have posted it.

I do post a lot of junk, always did wherever I go. Hell I talk bollocks most of the time too :-D
Don't like being serious unless I have to, the exact reason I often get asked "How are you so cheerful ALL the time" it's cos I talk rubbish all day lol

Glad we have no quarrels :)

Now, about that Bermuda triangle thing, so you think it's a myth? really? cos I seen on tele these guys talking about how they saw a huge great plane just fall out of the sky and others who reported great big boats just being sucked into the ocean like a giant sucking thing that was born to Mr. & Mrs. sucksalot in the town Sucksville just outside the small county of Suckshire.
But you don't think thats true? ;)
