   how to check if your ram stick is good or bad?

   Go here http://www.memtest86.com/
   and click on Technical Info in the left column. The Windows Installation section tells you how to burn a CD, if you don't have a floppy drive. You boot from the CD and let the test run. It will take time so don't plan on using the computer for a few hours.
