Good connection, no websites

I have good cable internet connection, but unable to sign in to any website. Tried a lot of things, nothing helped. (OS - XP with servicepack 2)
Please somebody, HELP!

My friend's problem is: she has internet connection, but can not sign in to any website, that needs sign-in. She can surf the net, but unable to sign in even to her MSN homepage. Hope this explains the problem clearer.

 

If she is using a router, try bypassing the router, and see if she has the same problem. If it is the router, try adjusting the MTU (in the router), and/or see if there is a later and greater firmware available.
