    Hi Folks

Been looking around for ages for a good free PDF fillable form editor as I at times have PDF forums I wish to make electronically editable and while Acrobat Pro (ran out of my trial 30days) can do this ok, not a cost I wish to take on as work will not pay for it, so I'm left with freeware options.

    A link to what I mean https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how...rms.html?set=acrobat--fundamentals--pdf-forms

Now I have tested out a few online options and that are passable but not as good as a desktop app would be and not always I will have internet access (train and airport etc), so any suggestions of apps you have personally used that will cut it....

If possible needs to be Windows 10 compatible not a deal breaker though as most will be these days, as I will be using a desktop and Surface with W10.

DavidGP, do you use Microsoft Office?
You can create fillable forms in Word.
How compatible these forms are with other office suites, I cannot say. Maybe make a basic form and upload it so members using LibreOffice, Apache OpenOffice, WPS Office, etc. can test it.
Also, Microsoft has a free Word Viewer which should be able to view any document made in Word.

    Hi all

Thanks for the suggestions, will go through them in turn,

No on Scribus but I'm downloading now and will give it a try, I do have Ghostscript installed, but good to know. Harmless cheers for posting a guide too, that helps greatly, but hoping I can use already created PDF forms I have and overlay the fillable boxes etc, save creating them from scratch.

Eldon, yes I have Office 365, only thing with Word is relies on the 3rd parties I deal with having office or want to download the Word Viewer, all AFAIK have Acrobat Reader as we deal in PDFs a lot, but I do know you can create a form in Word and was a guide I now have lost that implied you can send it to PDF and its a PDF fillable.

One online PDF fillable editors are ok, just a bit fiddly hence looking for desktop version, but I will be trying the options you have all supplied and will let you know my progress.

Good option Eldon, I'm trying as hard as I can to get away from paying as it would be me paying and not work and its work related docs I would need this for only. Home stuff I would just do as you mentioned in a Word doc.

Installed and testing Scribus out this morning.
