good video conversion program?????

hi all, just been searching for a good program for converting avi files to mpeg2, can anyone recommend a good one, thanks in advance

bainoflife I recommend http://www.majorgeeks.com/Video_To_Video_Converter_d8158.html as it appears to be more aimed at converting to what you need rather than just downsizing for a phone or mobile device that most others seem to be geared to do.
