Good web design forum?

Anyone have a favorite forum for web designers? I'd like a good place to have a chance to re-learn all of my web design stuff. After being with my current job, I've forgotten most of what I knew, and it's frustrating not being able to just automatically know how to code things to make it do what I want, and it's frustrating not being able to see something that's not supposed to be and know exactly what the problem is.

Compsci.ca has a whole board dedicated to web design in many languages. Actually, it's a great site for any programmer!

Well, I'm not Canadian but I guess that doesn't matter. Thanks for the link. Hopefully I'll be able to get back in the groove soon.

Everything you will ever need A-Z in Web Design can be found at SitePoint.

I know what it's like to be in a particular job that you forget what you don't use. I often make up charts in Web Pages to summarize what I've learned so I can refresh later. I also do hobby projects like make games and tools. SitePoint is good, though I'm not actually a member. I also have specific sites for specific areas.

I guess it depends on what you need. Im going to go out on a limb here. You might not need a forum. Since you forgot all you know, your aware things change quickly. Well, most websites can be done now in a WYSIWYG editor and coding is typically for a larger issue. Also, using a backend like Joomla simply requires you have a template to plug in, often free, at which point some codeing is needed. So, really it depends on where you want to restart or head to. We have some free WYSIWYG editors here under office.

When I'm feeling like I need a little help, I usually visit the Adobe Video Workshop. This may seem obvious, but sometimes seeing the videos inspires and reminds me of tools I had forgotten about. There are tutorials on just about anything Adobe available. I'm not certain what programs you're using, but in any case, it give an idea of what's out there.

Having the attention of an elderly housefly, I like videos.

    Hope it helps.

Thank you all for the replies. I honestly didn't expect that many helpful responces. :)

Honestly, while I don't really have a whole lot against them, I don't like WYSIWYG editors. I have an Adobe package that includes Dreamweaver, so I do have one. I learned in notepad, though, I seem to do best in it, and I just simply prefer it. Maybe once I learn the ins and outs of Dreamweaver I'll at least be able to use it to keep track of site related files, do all of the folder hierarchy for me and to do repetitive tasks. Using a template for the pages can be handy as well, especially if you have a lot of them. Not near as much copying and pasting every time you make a change to the navigation or something.

Really what I'd like to get is a copy of Macromedia Homesite. I think they still sell it... Obviously it would come from Adobe now, though.

Quick question for anyone that may know the answer... Is Firefox 3 still in beta stage? I've been using it for a while now not knowing it was in beta stage... It may be the cause of some of the cross-compatibility type problems I've been having when creating pages. I wonder if I went back to the previous version I'd have less trouble making the pages appear the same in both browsers(I mainly focus on IE and Firefox when testing for cross-compatibility... When I get more into it I'll worry about other browsers).

    Thanks for the help everyone.

I believe FF3 is now released as stable

I'm not sure if you need to redownload it since you started with a beta, or if the updates make it stable.
