Had to put a friend down this morning.

You were a great friend and family member for 13yrs. Hope your doing better now. I'm sure Emma will be up to see ya soon.

Yes, it is okay to cry! It's okay to grieve over your loss. You have the right to grieve because you've lost a loyal companion and a best friend. You've lost a family member who gave you unconditional love and acceptance. You've lost the one who loved you no matter what you did or didn't do.

That's really not mine, it is part of an article on dealing with the death of a pet (dog). But it is very true.

Thanks everyone. I plan on hitting about 50+ oz. of Heineken tonight. Last night was rough, we were up all night with him.

Had a VERY good family dog die in MY arms, and I know it sucks!!!! Hang in there buddy...tommorrow's another day!!!!

Just remember....ALL dogs go to heaven!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about you're sad loss, Bluesy. Yep, they are like a family member.

I even get upset when my parrot died. I felt better when I found out that Weiro's only live to about 10, and I had that one for 13 years, or something.

 

so sorry to hear about it blues. i felt the same way when we had to put down a dog we had for 15years she was a good friend and i will miss her very much. you need some good mojo go your way
here you can have some of mine and i will just stay in bed for the next moth so you can be happy for once

To me they are family.
I have never called them a pet
As you said they are closer than that.

 

man, I feel that.
I've got a dog that's now 14, so it's going to happen sometime too.
I'm not afraid to admit that I'll probably cry like a little girl.
Have a toast, and be wel in the knowledge that he was a good dog.
