Google chrome problems

Okay so I just updated my Google Chrome on XP and now it is extremely slow, lag, not loading pages like it should. This is just with this new Chrome, it was fine before, Firefox is still fine loading pages and such, I updated because I could not log in to youtube and use Google+. I manually updated so no need for worry of virus there. Please help. I tried finding help but stuff they said to do was not the problem. It is not malware, it is not the deselect proxy thing in Internet Explorer. I do not know what it is.
