Google has unveiled a beta version of its desktop search application, built with the same technology that powers its Google.com Internet search site.

Just installed the google desktop search engine..pretty slick but I do not see the thread you are referring to below this one that has anything to do with this? that one says>>

Took the google desktop search for a test drive. Looks like when you bring up jpeg's they won't open whereas a word doc will. Anybody had that problem and if so, is there a solution?

Not an issue for me>>this is a home PC. However, you are ignoring the point of this thread that jpeg files won't open? Wondering why you are divurging from my topic of discussion?

I'm pretty sure the topic of this thread is the "google desktop search" and not your jpeg's won't open.

Very neet little tool,,,tested and tried,,,I can not tell you how many times , I have misplaced a file,,maybe due to old age LMAO ,,but indeed did help me to find a missing file , my daughter needed for school.....VERY usefull.....indeed, Glenn

Anybody tried to open a jpeg from the Google desktop Search results? Mine won't open for some reason, but docs will.

JPGS work fine, but GIFs don't do anything. For me anyways

pretty wierd! just tried it again and it works for everything..even places a copy next to the script..hecka cool.
