Google Earth Pinpoints

Out there there are some forums dedicated to publishing pinpoints on the Earth to interesting places.

I thought we might be able to share some interesting pinpoints to places on the globe. To save a pinpoint file, just make a pinpoint (press the pinpoint button), position it, name it, then right click it in the Places bar, click save as. You'll need to zip it before you can upload it.

To open one, unzip and double click and your globe will automatically fly to the new pinpoint.

Kewl idea for a thread fishy

For those not familiar with this program or if you missed the discussion about it you can get it here at MajorGeeks. Tip: If you don't have a supported video card you can try accessing the program via Start > Programs > Google Earth > Start Google Earth in DirectX.

Here's mine...travel East a short distance and see the ocean...west for the Inter-Coastal with all the little run-offs.

 

Any luck finding area 51?

I think I did this right.....

If you zoom out...you wil see that it is at the south leg of the arch in St. Louis, Missouri...the EXACT spot where my wife and I will be standing this weekend while we are working at the 4th of July festival!!!! Ofcourse if you pan around a little bit...you will see Busch Stadium...to the west...and the mississippi river...to the east.

This is pretty cool...I've been ALOT of places in this wonderful country and I could spend hours looking them up on the Google Earth thingy!!
