Google Hijack

Hey, Everytime I search for something in Google, the first 4 or so results are stuff like "search for [insert searched item here] with red zip" or something like "search for [insert searched item here] at ebay". It's not their normal ads, in fact, sometimes I get the normal results and then two seconds later my browser refreshes and I get the skewed results. Anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Or is anyone have the same problem?

 

Not that this will help you at all, but...

that red zip re-direct is the same web company that gets me, although my google searches work.

But all of the usuall suspects are there: RedZip, EBay...

what about amazon, expedia, or AOL?

I think i have a Cool WWW Search hijacker. I'm waiting in line to be helped like the rest of us though. if i figure anything out i'll post back

 

Yeah, I also get Amazon too and www.thefreedictionary.com. I have no idea what it is. Spy-bot and ad-aware have not gotten rid of this...and for some stupid reason I cannot restore to an earlier time.

 

before you get yelled at by the mods, you should follow the instructions on how to remove spyware from your comp.

I know how to get spyware off of my computer. But I cannot get rid of this, that is why I posted a message.

 

I have been doing a little research and found out my spyware came from a site and the software information can be found here: http://troffee.com/license.html. Has anyone else ever seen this? When I go to the site to find out how to uninstall this software, I am forbidden from accessing the server.

 

there is a strict method of operation they want you to do that includes more than just adaware and spybot. it takes a while, you need to download a ton of proggies like CCleaner, stinger, spyblaster, CWShredder and such. trust me and read the forum. they will tell you to do the steps.

 

I have the same problem, "upspiral", "redzip", "ebay", "amazon" and others are ALWAYS the first results returned.

I've performed everything according to the tutorial, but no luck yet. Any ideas?

We are the owners of redzip.com and need your help in tracking down what application is generating this behavior. I want to first state that we are NOT responsible for this (nor is upspiral, ebay, amazon etc). We are looking for someone out there who is willing to spend some time with our QA team diagnosing this issue and are are willing to pay you for your time and assistance if you can help us identify the application that is causing this nightmare.
