Google Question

Hi,

Just have a question, re Google, that I'd really be interested to hear the answer to.

Whilst doing some searches recently, on one particular topic, person actually, I found something that was initially - that is a few days ago, on approx the 6th page. You know how there might be 10 pages of relavant stuff for your search. Well this was right down the list, and Id never seen it before even though Id googled this some dozen times previously.

Tonight, I see that it's jumped to the first page, and is about 3rd on the list of the 1st page. How is that possible?

Does anyone know how this works - how is a something that was googling about 6 pages back in the search result, suddenly up the top of the list? How does google sort out what comes first?

I know this sounds weird, but I'd really just like to know. Im curious. Thanks

I guess its to do with the size of the advertising wallet. Not sure!
But i do love that avatar....

also depends on the question you ask, if its specific it will have not so many high ranking hits so your likely to have a 1st page hit or one that if you search the same thing again will move it up the ranks as it becomes a pouplar site or search.

These days search engines have bots or spiders searching all the web for spider friendly sites which dont mind being indexed for search engines, these can have new pages from websites and forums up in hours.
