    I am also having the google redirect problem. I have gone through the read and run me files and attached the logs. I have Norton Internet Security and everytime I run it it is finding tracking cookies which it says it has deleted but isn't actually deleting.

    Let's see if we can get Combo to fix you up.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters]
    "DhcpNameServer"=""

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\controlset001\services\tcpip\parameters]
    "DhcpNameServer"=""

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\controlset002\services\tcpip\parameters]
    "DhcpNameServer"=""

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    I seem to have run in to a problem. I ran combofix (log attached). During the time it was running it shut down and restarted the computer. I entered my password and it continued and the blue window came back up saying not to do anything until the log files were generated, which I didn't. However the start menu programs obviously started themselves.

    I then tried to do MGTools but got an error message that said:

    C:\MGTools\GetLog.Bat
    Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion

    I then tried to open IE and got the same error message and have had the same with everything else i've tried to open on the machine.

    I disabled Norton before running combofix but once I started to run it the Windows Security Centre started to flash up messages - I didn't register it and therefore didn't disable it before I ran the program.

    Can you boot into safe mode and run the MGTools/getlogs.bat? You may need to disable Norton first.

    If it still wont run, try downloading a fresh copy and let it overwrite your previous copy> MGtools Then run the MGTools.exe

    If that still does not work, we can try doing a system restore.

    Thank you! MGTools log attached. Unfortunately links in google are still redirecting to other sites.

    Are you using a router? If you are, please re-set it to factory settings while we try to fix this again.

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now right click your Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection, choose properties, then highlight IV4(tcp/ip) and again choose properties. Make sure there is nothing in the boxes and only Obtain IP and obtain DNS automatic is checked.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Thanks Tim. Log attached - apologies for the delay in doing this. I did get a success message when running the fixME.reg file and had no problems.
