Google results hijacker - maybe gone after prepost steps

Well after over 20 years I got zapped and it was my own stupidity that got me. I opened what I thought was an ebook preview yesterday afternoon and all my Google results started going to spam pages. I know that .exe files are dangerous so had scanned it wit Symantec AV and it found nothing. While .exe ebooks are not common, I have seen them from legitimate places in the past.

Anyway I immediately started checking the internet from my other laptop and and found that I had at lease b.exe and c.exe which I tried to get rid of manually by deleting the files from temp and hacking the references to them from the registry. I could not get SpyBot, Hyjack This, Autoruns, or Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to run without being killed almost immediately. On top of that, the programs would be locked and could not be run or deleted.

I found this place and went and followed the Read Me and Win XP Cleanup procedures. I have done those and am attaching the logs. It appears that tis might have fixed my problem (Google results go to the right place, autoruns and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware start and run now and are not locked). Can someone please take a look at the logs to make sure that everything looks good. Like I said I have managed 20 years of online activity without getting anything so I am not used to dealing with these things.

Your logs are clean. Though your java is way out of date.

Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 16"
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 16

And do you know what this is:
C:\Program Files\iakxnn.txt --> if not delete it.

Now download and install:
Java Runtime 6

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners.They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.

If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)

Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required

"%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u

Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.

This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.

Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.

If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:

Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.

Then reboot and Enable System Restore ato create a new clean Restore Point.
