Google now has satellite images directly incorporated into a national "zoom in" map.

Up on the right of the screen, you can switch from Map view to Satellite view. You can switch views at any time which is pretty neat.

Does anyone know how old these images will be? according to what im looking at the ones in my home town are no older than 10 years, but I could be wrong.

Google is using Keyhole technology for it's images. This is from the Keyhole site.

"Keyhole continuously updates its database with the average age of imagery ranging from 18 to 24 months. Imagery can vary in age from as new as 2-3 months to as old as 2-3 years. Keyhole is increasingly taking advantage of satellite imagery to update the Keyhole database more aggressively."

My guess is the picture of my place is about 2-3 years old ... now we just need Google to merge this with their video offering and offer real-time imagery!
