googled

I just googled the goodnight thread and it seems that some sites feel they have the original and official goodnight thread. I started one here in 04 .... anyone find one prior?

Huh, why does it matter? I notice the one you refer to is closed, got to see a lot of names I'm not to familiar with, which is interesting.

 

Kind of interesting to see. The thread was started here and it seems to have traveled the net. Kind of like a historical moment for Mg when you think of it. Home of the official goodnight thread.

Well I may have changed cyber history, but I would like to think I also added some etiquette to boards. Just seems so rude to walk away from a conversation without giving a proper farewell.

 

Maybe even Mg's claim to fame as being the very first forum to ever have the goodnight thread. :confused

 

Hello All:wave, Please tell me what a goodnight thread is and what is spamming to increase post count? Also should I google something before I ask in a forum or is there a glossary of terms somewhere on the site? I agree with FlyNdragon, to leave a conversation w/out even a sya is somewhat abrupt. So man old friends... some don't even post anymore... and Gary... God, I miss Gary... that almost made me cry.

 

Yep, that was a bit of a 'blast from the past'. Often think of Gary, myself. Like G.T. himself said, I'll post a G'night if I'm in the middle of conversation, but for the most part, this isn't really that kind of media, if you know what I mean.

 

Sorry I didn't get back here soon. I'm a bit under the weather again ... but I did finally make it back.

Calltaker, Wenchie, Phantom ... I don't know about you all but this is a very hard month for me. I really miss Gary this month ... and fact is ... it was around this time last year that I had my last communications with him.

There are some thread I think have special value to this site and if a site can lay claim to something that is spreading across the net, then they should hold on to it.

 

Flyndragon, long time no see, hope all is well with you. Gary was a VERY special person and will be sorely missed forever by everyone that he touched.

Phan, great to see you here, I hope to be here more often (at least for the next 4 days or so).

Wenchie, how's that daughter of yours doing anyway? Is she getting more like mommy every day? BTW, love your sig line, don't agree with it but I do love how it reflects the cynism (is that the right word) that associates with you. Keep up the great work.

A glossary thread sounds great to me, think I'll start one.
