GOP Debate MIA

wasn't there a repoob debate tonight? talk radio's been pumping it up all day, but when the time came, not a one of them was broadcasting it (usually 2-3 do).

google claims it's a "fox news/google" debate this time. while foxnews.com does indeed list it, tvguide.com is showing HANNITY in the usual slot.

i tried "watch live" on the website, but it wouldn't play. and w/o a clear idea of what radio stations might be broadcasting it in OTHER cities, i can't check enough of them fast enough to find in time. honestly, i expected to find it on our local ones.

any good sites (politco, slate, etc) which reliably stream this stuff? i've apparently blown THIS one (close to an hour gone now, even if i find it**), but i'd like to be on top of it the NEXT time i get in this pinch.

yes, i read the PM, but hadn't gotten around to trying the link yet b/c i'd already found one myself (footnote in my OP). problem being that i missed half the debate before finding it, so i'm glad to add your link as a backup for next time.

and i heard it was a bloodbath of a debate, nothing "anemic" at all! and not just between conservative-only-when-its-convenient "flip-flop" romney and never-conservative-but-everyone-thinks-he-is "houdini" perry...but even santorum and cain getting into the mix this time.

i don't see much of ANYTHING cryptic in that post, aside from assuming there are enuf yanks on this board to understand the question. which is no diff then other's threads about US TV, UK politics, Aussie football, etc etc.

if u like, however, i cud "un"-translate it and repost it in the more-natural CatTspeak...lot more abbrevs and a fair amt of 1337.....

To themselves really. It was all 'talking points' and quite boring. Same old/same old. Just like the Dems vs GOP really. The problem is that their war detrimentally affects you and your life.

 

Cat if you are that eager to find the debate information, any news outlet had plenty of information (or mis-information) .

It was a non event for the most part but those who cannot answer questions will drop out within a few more months as they are simply NOT electable.

yes, in fact, i believe perry dropped out in hour 2!

certainly wouldn't call it a non-event; perry went from solid frontrunner to 3d or 4th in 2 short hours -- behind NEWT even!

aniwe, i wasn't really looking for info on the debate, just the stream. and now that it's over, maybe a podcast so i can go back and hear the hour i missed.

maybe not. by now i've heard all the high points on the news, leno, talk radio, etc.

i got an earlier start this time; tonight's debate is being carried on bloomberg tv, bloomberg radio, and their corresponding websites...in case anyone's interested. host is charlie rose, so there may be an outside chance PBS is also picking it up as well. (doubtful, tho, or it would be googling up somewhere)

since like NO ONE has bloomberg tv, i guess we'll all be watching online. or listening to the radio -- we get a solid bloomberg signal most of the time, altho i think it is a new york station not a local one.

tried to figure out our local affiliate on their website, but i see nothing besides "NYC 1130" anywhere. hundreds of tv stations in dozens of countries, and yet they only have **ONE** radio station anywhere???? is that POSSIBLE?!

alas, but NYC signal not coming in at the moment....

Seems to be a derogatory slur to at least one member here on MajorGeeks. Most likely me overreacting, but I don't think you will find a post where I insult someone just because of their party affiliation. I am all about discussion and debate, but without the HBT section, not much of that going on. I don't like that, but is not my forum. But blanket insults to a political party seems a bit wrong.

 

OK, i apologize to Fred_G and any other southerners who take offense at "mock redneck". I use it in almost every thread; obviously it has nothing to do with politics. Too much Larry the Cable Guy, i guess.

I do find it amusing, however, to get called out for insulting...MYSELF! Geesh. So now we've gone from the PC police to the self-deprecation police?!

That's the thing about a GOP debate. If you miss one just wait a while, there will be another one come along in a while.
