I have a cat. His name is Floyd. I had to board him for a week at the vet. They threw away his most favorite toy in the world after being told explicitly not to misplace it. I am having no luck finding a replacement. If anyone recognizes this cat toy and can supply the name of the manufacturer, Floyd would be extremely grateful. (BTW, it used to have 6 legs.)

We had one but it had a goldfish on the end - shame we don't have a cat anymore though :(

    You tried ebay?

Sue the vet that took away the toy, technically it was your property :p

What was their reason for throwing it away? So it's spacificly a cat toy? Will look around.

I would advise checking your local PetCo or petSmart. I know that Petco here has a lot of stuff like that. Of course, I am somewhat partial to them as my other half is their grooming salon manager......

No luck at the big box stores. I've tried them both. It's rather ironic I'm having trouble finding this, as I spent over 20 years in retail and wholesale pet supplies. The eBay suggestion has, however, proved indirectly fruitful. I've been Googling my butt off for images of "cat pole toy" and the like. Not until I browsed through 600+ cat items on eBay did the term "wand" instead enter my mind. I now believe it may be a variety of the Petmate Dancin' Dangler toy, made by Doskocil out of Arlington, TX. Thanks to all who responded.

Hmm, I have one that has the same wand, but a relatively boring coloured ball on the end. Between that, and the laser pen, they are some of her favorite things.

Not seen the bug thang, though.

Does it jump or move about with the use of a bellows-type apparatus?

How could they lose something so big, grrr. I can't find a green bug anywhere. That was a really cute toy too.

Me too, looked every where I can think of. Is kitty going through withdrawals?

Heh, let's just say his energies are being channeled elsewhere, and not always in a desirable manner. The "bug", as it's called here, was multifunctional. Long removed from the wand portion, he would carry it around, usually depositing it in his food bowl. He would "stalk" and "kill" it. And, in the evening, he would bring it to me on the sofa and we would play "fetch" with it-- he would actually go get it and bring it back at least a half dozen times per session. I have some old industry contacts looking for one for me at this point-- neither of the major wholesale distributors that serve the area stock it.

What a shame. I'll still keep an eye out.
