got a winlogon.exe application error

After updating to service pack 2 on windows xp pro i had to restart my computer....after restarting i got this error saying
Winlogon.exe - application error
and something about could not read this instruction

gave me 2 options either to terminate or debug...tried both and my computer keeps restarting as it wont let me goto the desktop nor load windows up...even in safe it wouldnt let me go into desktop so i reinstalled windows without formatting using the windows cd and now i could get into desktop but i think there is a virus cuz it loads up very slowly...so right now im backing up all my stuff but before i do a complete format and install i want to see if its still worth saving by cleaning it up

You're logs show no signs of malware. Just an outdated version of Windows XP since you reinstalled over SP2 which is probably why your PC is slow now.

And also a couple of old programs that should be uninstalled:
ewido anti-malware
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6

No! You would have to post about that in the Software Forum. They may want a crash log or any error codes or an Event Log.
