I got fired today. Woots, 99 weeks of unemployment! :-D Ahh, take a nice week off, well, part of a week, got to learn some software. Looks like I have a new job 5.5 hours after being fired.

It is a beautiful evening! Change can be good. :cool

True that. I am happy. Current job was just not for me. Since I was told to leave the property, pretty sure I could get unemployment. But not really how I roll.

Hmm, not that I would mind a couple of weeks off with some pay... :-D:-D

How do you apply for unemployment?

New job awaits. Am looking forward to it. Gonna work a couple of days a week to give me and the new boss a test drive, see if we get along.

I hope that the new job is better pay/conditions, etc. Yeah, sometimes getting fired can be the biggest favour a boss can do for you. That's when later on, you go into the store as a customer and keep asking to have a look at anything that resides way up high on the top shelf, and keep telling them you're interested in something else. Then finish off by saying "Nah, I've changed my mind, I just wanted to see you climb up and down."
Puerile, yes - but the annoyance factor cannot be beaten. :-D

I won't darken the door of that shop if he is there. I choose who I do bidness with. ;)

Hell no, not to do any business there - just to make them tired and upset them. roflmao (I am teh evil one!....:major :-D ).

I just remove myself from them. Let them sink or swim, prosper of fail on there own. I can't hold enough hate in my heart to go there and mess with them. I wish them well.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

There was a smudge on my monitor, and I thought the title of this thread was:

    Got Fired Upon

And then, I saw whose thread it was, and I thought: Oh shit - there goes the neighborhood...WWIII is gettin' ready to start in the Bayou Country...

As long as you're okay with it, and you have options, what else matters? :)

What, no comments about my sexy self dressed up like a WWII Russian? :-D:-D

Had a lot of fun with that. The guy that I borrowed the outfit from even made me wear a spoon on my uniform. Evidently some kind of Russian thing. He is a stickler for authenticity.

Actually, that is a 1950's uniform, but I doubt anyone will notice.

Anyone else have fun getting fired? I have smiled and laughed more in the last 2 days than I think I did last month. :-D

As long as you don't play Russian Roulette you can play with your Russian friend. You really seem to be fired up Fred! (pun intended) ;)

    Hi Fred,

I have finished 7 months of brutal job search- I am headed back to a perm job next Monday. Go to the local Lousy-anny* unEmployment office and apply as you will have 7 days from the day you file as a "waiting period." I went to the job classes and did a new resume that was "dumbed down" to stress what I CAN do for an employer. Mock interviews gave me the tough questions before I flubbed an interview.... it helped. ;)

Fred, I respect that people's lives are private and all, but this has my curiosity up.

Why so happy at being fired? I mean, could you give us the reader's digest version of why you hated that place?

Had 2 partners. One was a pretty easy going guy. The other one was OCD and a arseclown. No pay increase. Had worked late several days, no bonus, no time off to compensate. No vacation. Pain to get a day off for anything but medical reasons.

I don't like working 6 days a week. I have back problems, so moving cases of wine around all day was not doing me well.

Had been thinking about a job I was offered a couple of weeks ago. Arseclown made my decision for me.

New job: 5 days a week 9-5, better pay, more interesting (will be using large format printers to make signs). So, more pay, better hours, more challenging job. Will get to work on computers, networks and printers.

Have not started the new job yet, told new boss I wanted a few days off to take care of some stuff. I was really only 'unemployed' for about 5 hours. Will spend a few hours this week learning how to repair the printers.

Now you see why I am so :-D about getting 'fired'? All I loose is my discount on wine. :cry

And with better pay, you won't need the discount. ;) :wine
