Got HiJacked,need help with Nortons AV

Hi,well spyware finally got me ( Ditorm.exe and istsvc\istsvc.exe plus many others ) I removed them all,I got them out of the registry too. FXistbar tool from Symantec was a big help.
I have to thank my son for doing this,I thought he was smarter,Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
I got rid of everything thanks to your forum,I used all the programs that you guys spoke of. At the end I ran spybot and adaware and HiJack and came up with Zeros. The only thing is that when I run my aniti-virus ( Symantec's 2003 ) it gets passed the half way point and stops when it's Scanning ( C:\Quickenwl\QWDELUXE\DISK9 ) and freezes up there. It does the same in Safe Mode too,any fixes for this,or maybe just uninstall it and reinstall it,need some help please.

Well I uninstalled and reinstalled NAV and it's running just fine now,must of had a Corrupt file.
I want to thank Major Geeks and all the people in the forum for all your help,with the sticky notes I had no problem removing Spyware from my System that my son downloaded last night. I had all the protection except SpyBlaster,my fault,,,my son got educated about the spyware last night too. I guess we all learn by are mistakes,including me.
Six months ago I would have said some choice words and probly formatted my machine,today I fixed it and it did not take to long at all. I know alot about Computers,but not everything,I've learned so much in the forum.
