may I ask to what spec's your quad core is?

even if this is not an i7 core cpu, regular SMP WU's would do well compared to the standard Uniprocessor client also compared to my lowly dual core AMD 4200+ and 5200+ as I just do finish these WU's within the last 24 hours and usually the regular SMP WU's allow 4 days to complete for a bonus, thereafter just standard points with 9 days to complete.(I haven't done regular SMP WU's now for a month or so as it up's the temperature per core to at least 20 degrees Fahrenheit and the rules may have changed since.)

    fold on

    Hey noprob :)

Yes its an i7 920 CPU in this my desktop PC, my server has a C2D cannot remember but off hand the exact spec but likely an E6800 CPU.

Will definatly give bigdav a new look as soon as I can, folding at present with GFX card, got me into the top 40 on MGs folders so ok for now as I'm not a big folder or diehard.

Another stab in the heart on this machine!:banghead:crybaby:cry My brand new 2TB WD Caviar just died on me taking away close to two days production. Of course now Stanford is giving me small piddly things which the sucker can spew out quickly to start with, can't say I blame them either. It's the spawn of the devil I tell you. Anyone got a good mojo for that?:-D Time for a nap.

Luckily, I had a spare 640 lying around with a 50 GB C: partition already set up for an OS.

Wooohooo!!!:celebrate:dancer:hyper I'm Just so excited that I just can't hide it...!!! I hope it's finally stable at 4.7GHz. This is what the 2600K is supposed to do folding wise people, I may even try for 4.8GHz after this WU is done but I'm not going to hold my breath for that to happen.;) The difference between a 6900 @ 33 min. @ 4.6GHz and at 26 min. @ 4.7 GHz is remarkable! 33K PPD vs 46K PPD respectively, no GPU . I hope this lasts eh?;) I did leave OCCT on for a couple of hours and the temps are no worse than at 4.6, go figure.:confused
