We do! Lots. 16 inches (40cm) of it so far and not supposed to end until 7 tonight. :cry

We are stuck for the duration, which I can't say I'm unhappy about. I went to the store and got plenty of fun food.

Anyone else in the Northeast US?

Chas was saying in PM lastnight that he was expecting snow also, no snow here thats of significance, had some on Tuesday but only a light snow and didnt amount to much.

Yep. I think Chas is in NJ which isn't that far south of us. They were getting hit worse than us.

I will have pics. Not yet though. Still only 9 in the morning. I need my coffee before pics.:-D

hahahaha...well, since not only do I need my caffeine, but I'm a huge wimp, I'll have to get out later or tomorrow when it's not blizzarding (that should so be a word) out to take some. We have a drift on our patio that is about 3 feet high.

Here's one out the door, but you can't see how much we have with it.

The important thing for sure, satrow!

I got the makings for homemade guacamole, chips and salsa, the makings for chocolate chip cookies to do with my girls, and lots of cheese and crackers. No healthy food in site. :-D

    a cm?? You're lucky, z.

Are you shoveling driveways for people? That's a good way to do it. How much do you charge?

  11. LI_Geek_95

    LI_Geek_95 Post-and-Run Geek

    Well, if its less than 6" i charge $10. 6"-12" I charge $15. More than a foot i charge $20.

Neat pic L, that should be a postcard.

Was going to say all around to your house BUT likely we need heavy duty snow shoes to get there! I love that sort of food, having a mix myself tonight of various nibbles of Indian foods.

Not a bad price. I'd hire you. My hubby is going out right now...I bet you he'd pay you twice that amount at this point. LOL

I'm looking forward to the munchies. Indian food sounds yummy too, but I wouldn't have a clue how to make that. You're welcome to come here for some, D, but you'll need more than heavy duty snow shoes...think skis or snowmobile. :-D

Yea, I'm stuck here.. actually I haven't gotten out of bed yet, not sure if I even will get out of bed with nothing to do and no where to go LOL

It's still snowing but I have a friend in VA who said it had stopped snowing but started raining there, so hopefully the rain will make it up this way and wash away this evil :-D

Might just bake me some cookies :yum

Here is a picture I took from the inside of my door (I certainly wasn't gonna open the door :-D )

I'm out of bed, but still in my pjs. Hubby was pacing so I told him he was driving me nuts and to go do something.

He's shoveling the driveway and walkways. LOL

Oh MY! I just noticed he shoveled out the hot tub! Woohoo! I knew there was a reason why I loved him. :-D

Cookies sound yummy...we'll be making chocolate chip today.:drool

What dya, no eggs??? A friend of mine has lived there for years and he told me that in Philly, when a storm is looming, there's a run on eggs, bread and milk. Ya'll have a penchant for French toast?:-D

  25. LauraR

There is! You mean that's not universal? lol

Everyone thinks we're going to be in our house long enough to starve apparently and figure the bread, eggs and milk will tide them over during Armageddon. rolleyes:-D

I do have warm yummy foods to make :yum however, I actually kinda wanna go somewhere now but I'm positive nothing is open LOL

For some reason there is, I don't know why. I only buy what I really need and forgot about the eggs. A co-worker said to me, I don't know why everyone runs out to buy bread, milk and eggs. It's like the only thing you can have for breakfast during a storm is french toast :-D

Oh, Buck_nekid, that is some snow! Hardly any here, we had 52 degrees yesterday, and more brown fields than snow.. There is a few inches North of us, but not here.. Pax, you even got a bunch, eh? We like to share! :-D

What are we in England? What's a CM compared to in inches?

  33. Heyyou

It's really different up in the Catskill Mountains N.Y. this year. Normally our snow storms come down across the country from Canada west to east and we get 6" to 20" every time it snows. This year the el nineo has the storms coming across the south and up toward the east coast. As a result this is the 3rd or so storm where we did not get a flake. I'm really broken up about this. I have only started my snow blower once all winter. If we don't get snow soon, I'll have to turn my snow blower upside down in the Spring and empty the gas out of it. :-D

Got around 5" in central Indiana, with some blowing and drifting of snow. I hate to shovel snow. Fortunately my truck kinda crawls out of most of it.

Wifes car is an Optima, and it can get stuck on a frozen puddle, it seems . . . rolleyes. Spent my morning digging her car out. Could have been worse, I guess - sounds like the farther east you get, the worse it was.

Oh well - I'll be sitting at home sunday, warm and watching the Colts defeat the Saints . . . :dood

It's stable now but yesterday before it finally went out it kept flickering and browning out which is not good for the comp. I do have an older UPS with AVR but the shutdown software won't take and I'm drawing too many watts with my folding rig so it shuts down immediately. Gonna have to get a beefier one to handle the current usage.

Yeah we have the same forecast for this week of more snow and I'm just loving it - NOT!
My butt is getting too out of shape for this shoveling.:-o

Now I remember why I live in the south. I would have no idea what to do with more than a couple of inches of snow every 5 years or so... :-D Nice picts, I think that is as close to that much snow I want to get. It is in the 50's here. Port drinking weather. :drool

lol You guys are lucky, getting all our snow, that snow was bound for Canada and you're stealing it :p

I love snow, never really saw what the issues were unless you live somewhere uniquipped lol
The whole shut down of the UK made me laugh, I used to wory about snow and driving until I moved to Canada, it has to be at least 12inches on the roads before we don't go to work.
This year has been mild though, lowest temp was -22C and bugger all snow , maybe 8 inches at most :(
Most people here hate it too, not me, I love it, love driving in it too lol, I just don't like having to shovel the drive only for the damn snow plow to shoot all the snow off the road into my drive so I have to shovel it again, I swear they wait til I've finished before they plow lol

Every time we have more than 2" of rain here the country panics, and floods. If we have more than half of a quarter of an eighth of an inch of snow the country panics, gets iced up, and skids to a halt for six months.

Police actually advised people at one point not to go out unless it was a life or death situation, and 999 (emergency) calls went up by 900% (I think), with emergency response dropping to 30% as no ambulance here has snow chains, and even if we had them they would be considered a health and safety risk.
