    Hello,
I recently bought a new HP Stream laptop (yeah I've recently heard its a basic model). I also discovered it had "S-mode" and have since disabled that (so I could restore Windows Photo Viewer to this Windows 10). I've done this before on two other Dell laptops that had regular 10 on them.

So my latest attempt to get this thing tweaked just right was to use gpedit so I could stop Edge from using so much battery power running in the background. I downloaded it from majorgeeks and tried to run it. It tells me I need Framework Net 3.5 or whatever so I clicked to download and install that. It has installed successfully but now I can't find my downloaded gpedit installer to try to run it again. I checked downloads and program files and can't find it. Do I need to download it again? I've been at this all day with all the windows updates and version 1909 update, etc. I REALLY want to stop Edge from running in the background.

In Windows 10, you can control which apps run in the background under "Start > Settings > Privacy > Background apps".

Thank you. In all of the Google searches on this matter, now once was that simple solution recommended. Also, I am led to believe that having the S-Mode is what was causing me to not have access to many things. I had hoped that once I disabled that, everything would work like normal Windows 10.

I used to use another forum called TheTechGuy and they would have me run multiple scans to see what more, if anything, I needed to do to speed up my system and turn off all the things I do not need. Do you have any such scans to recommend?
