GPU Not Working

I have been a long-time viewer of the MG website but had never bothered to register until now. Anyways, about a year ago I bought a new Asus laptop, and it ran well. A stable 50-60 fps on the games I played, I don't play the high taxing FPS games. I had some problems a few months in, emailed Asus support and they told me to reformat using the CD it came with. It performed better but still wasn't like the day I bought it(nothing ever is though lol).

I assumed it was a graphics card problem, I went to the Nvidia control panel and all the settings were correct and I had it to be running. Yet GameBooster was saying that my integrated card was running, which puzzled me as I had it set for my Nvidia card to be running.

So I tried disabling my integrated Intel card by going into My Devices, and when I did that I got a pitch black screen. I couldn't do anything, so I had to reset it using the power button. When I turned it back on, the resolution was messed up and I went to the Nvidia control panel and it was no longer there. I go to My Devices and it says that the Integrated card was disabled, and the the Nvidia card was no longer working?

I don't really know what to do, but I posted my DxDiag to give you all the specifications. If there's anything else I need to add, just post.

 

You might need to go into your BIOS and alter a setting there to tell it which GPU to use.

 

Forgot to mention that I've gone through my BIOS multiple times and have found nothing that would allow me to change anything with my GPU.

 

Did you see something in there like:
Integrated Peripherals>Init Display First
with options like PCI Slot and either AGP or Onboard?
If you can find it, check that it's set to PCI slot (assuming that's where your card is).

 

I failed to mention that my laptop is using the automated switchable graphics, where the laptop decides on which to use, right now I am going back and updating ALL of my graphics drivers as I found a post on another forums with the person having the same problems.

My BIOS didn't have anything relative to that at all, it really only had some basic stuff such as boot sequence, basic computer info, security stuff, and a page of enabling stuff to do with ASUS(like my touchpad).

I will post back after I update my drivers.

 

Whoa, wait. I somehow missed the word "laptop" in your first post.

What's the exact model of your laptop? Also, was the Nvidia card included, or something you added somehow? If you added it (which I'm guessing isn't the case), what's the exact card you added?
