i have used Grab+ (IE9) for ages, as it was far more reliable than the competing apps and even the FF extensions. suddenly, tho, it hanging, crashing, and missing 99% of the vids i aim it at.

boot/reboot sometimes knocks it back to life, but not always. ditto uninstall/reinstall. in fact, i just UPGRADED orbit, and it's still doing its "blind hang" thing right now.

windows flashed a "Firewall...blocked P2P" popup at me, so i checked "allow access" (which i had already done during install anyways). and yet, it's STILL not getting anything.

anyway else experienced this lately? if not, and recommendations for similar apps? it's mostly youtube stuff i'm snagging.

just tried youtube downloader 1.9 -- while it's not having crash/hang problems, nor is it progressing on any of the links loaded.

is this, indeed, a firewall problem?

afaik, i haven't changed any settings (except reasserting "allow", per the OP), but i'm in a public library. could it relate to something they've done on the server side?

FWIW, i just got an popup on ANOTHER site (hotmail or something) "IE has modified this site to prevent cross-site scripting".

have never seen such a message before -- i mention it here in case it is somehow the cause of my woes.
