Hello, here is my problem: I have an Asus ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard in a pc I own for about 3 yrs. I don't have the money to make an upgrade yet, but I'd like to buy a new graphics card. Right now I use Nvidia Geforce 6200 Turbocache. Any help or suggestions would help me a lot, since I don't know a lot about hardware and I have some trust issues with the stores I can buy it... Thanks a lot in advance for any replies.

Welcome to MajorGeeks. Any current nVidia card would be a massive upgrade from what you currently have. You could get an ATI card, but you have SLI so it would be wiser to stick with nVidia so you can add a 2nd card later if you decide to. The 8600 series from nVidia is available in many configurations including factory overclocked varieties and up to 1gb of memory on board, and they're SLI compatible so you could add a 2nd one later. The price/performance ratio on the 8600's can be downright amazing so do some research. If money isn't really a huge issue, take a look at the 9600GT's. They're aournd $150 or so and totally rock. For a bit more ($200+) the 8800 series is a force to be reckoned with. The sky is the limit with PCIe video cards these days and it all comes down to how much money you want to spend....

Good luck! Let us know what you decide to go with....

    Well, I I am between
    XFX GEFORCE 8600GT 512MB PVT84JYAJG PCI-E RETAIL or
    ASUS EN8600GT MAGIC/HTP 512MB PCI-E RETAIL or
GIGABYTE GEFORCE 8600GT GV-NX86T512H 512MB SILENT PIPE 2 PCI-E RETAIL, all around 70 - 75 euros, something i can afford. Do you know which one is better and if they are compatible with my mobo? Also, should I prefer a card with 256mb instead of these that are 512mb?

There's no reason to even think about a card with 256mb if all those have 512mb. These days 512mb is pretty much the norm where 256mb was the norm about 18months to 2 years ago. Get as much RAM on the card as possible for the amount of money you want to spend. I haven't looked at each card's individual specs, but just going by brand, I'd recommend the XFX as they have a lifetime warranty. Be sure to research each card and get the one with the fastest memory clock, engine clock, and shader clock. There can be a large difference in clock speeds among the different 8600s, so check the specs. :D
