graphic card/power supply

    i hve just got a 7600 graphic card and when i try to install the drivers for it my monitor goes off.ive been told that my power supply is not big enough and i need a hiper type r 530 watt. i have a 480 watt power supply.can anyone give me some help

    Some video cards have their own power connector, and they must be connected to the power supply to function correctly. Also, some motherboards that accept PCIX video cards have an additional power connector just for the PCIX video slot. Read your manuals for your video card and motherboard (or download the manuals from the internet) to find out if these connectors are what's causing the problem. A 480w power supply should be OK for a single video card, unless it has low amps and your running multiple hard drives....
