Hi - I just bought a Gainward Ultra/1980 TV/DVI Geforce 6600GT graphics card (AGP). I'm looking for some tech support with it.I installed it with no problems and loaded the latest drivers from their site. The only problem is when I boot the computer it says:

"The NVIDIA System Sentinel is reporting that the NVIDIA-powered graphics card is not receiving sufficient power.
To Protect your hardware from potential damage or causing a potential system lock-up, the graphics processor has lowered its performance to a level that allows continued safe operations"

Then there's an OK box or a troubleshoot box. When I click the troubleshoot box, it says:

"To remedy the problem, ensure that your NVIDIA graphics card in your system has the supplemental power connector attached. This connection is required and your system may be damaged if it is not place. Also the power supply in your computer must be able to supply ample power to power all the attached periferals in addition to this extra connection."

THERE IS NO POWER CONNECTION IN THE BOX! ONLY ADAPTORS FOR TV! PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

As I said at the end there is no power connection. Its not listed on the box, and the instructions don't tell me to put any cable in!

I see what you mean, the 6600gt doesnt bring a power connector. Then your power supply is under rated. You need a new one.

There is no connector in the box.
You have to use a molex connector from your existing power supply in the computer.

Yes there is a socket available on the card.
    See here for picture:

I've heard issues in the past where the AGP version of the 6600 gt requires extra power for the card. Which it doesn't say anything about this within the manual. But, I just now went to the gainward website and it is obvious that this card requires that power connector.

The PCI-Express version doesn't require this.

Anyway, does your video card look like this?

Ok - it turned out all I actuall needed was one of those molex connectors in to it!! So now my problem is I haven't enough of those connectors! I have 2 dvd drives, 2 hard drives and now my graphics card needs one. But I've only 4 connections!! Any suggestions??

Buy a splitter molex cable. I'd piggy back off the cdrom drive.

    Something like this:

Problem is that since he has a low wattage PSU if he piggy backs off another drive there wont be enuff power for either.

Which is the reason I suggested piggy backing off the cdrom drives since they are used less.

But, a new PSU may be needed....
