I was given a graphics card for my compaq presario by a friend who said that this card should work but I need to discover what sort or brand or model it is.
How can I find out what sort/model/brand it is if I can't find any names on it?

    Hi

Does it have an code numbers ( FCC serial ) , serial numbers etc on it

If you have plugged it in to the PC, then check the Device Manager for Display Adapters and look at the properties as even if you dont have a manufacturers driver for the device Windows will generally add a default driver and that will tell you the maker and version.

or Install Everest click Computer > Summary and under display adapters it should tell you what card you have.

Or does your friend not know what the card was as he aquired it or even had it in his PC, if it was in his PC he should know the manufacturer and as the two major makers in nVidia and ATi have unified drivers which work with the majority of the range of cards that carry their chips.

When I put the card into the tower the screen stayed blank and started to boot up but didn't display anything maybe it requires a cable to connect it to the system. When I put it into replace the older one it didn't register as anything.
This card has a Svideo port, Rca port, and a blue port with 15 holes in three equal layers

Can you by any change take a piture of the card and post it?

Is the card yellow in colour?

Any stickers or numbers anywhere on the card that state this code:
    RIA2D4-BINV
    HK792-1 V3.1

You may before installing this card have to enter your Bios if you have onboard graphics at present and enable AGP/PCI graphics.
