My husband, who knows less than nothing about computers, decided to do him some web surfing Fri. He's finally managed to do something I can't undo and I need help. There are 3 sites that are usually open on my browser: Home, Babycenter and Pogo. Those are the only 3 sites I am having trouble with. My homepage (Comcast) is just a blank white with a list of options & links down the left hand side. There are no graphics on babycenter and very few on Pogo. The sites look kind of like they do when there is maintenance or something going on. Any other site I go to is fine and these 3 are fine if I open them with IE, but I would rather have my mozilla. What could he possibly have done to change the appearance of these sites? I spent the day cleaning out & running scans in case he downloaded or picked something up, but that didn't help. It looks like he somehow changed the settings for the appearance of the sites that were open at the time. Is that even possible? Any help is appreciated.

    OS: Vista

If you have a restore point (programs/accessories/system tools/restore) before he decided to surf, it might be quicker to just go back to that point in time.
If he wants to surf again, make a restore point before you let him on the computer. ;)

I should have thought of that, lol. However, it didn't work. What if I uninstall & reinstall firefox? Would that be worth a shot?

In tools>>option>>content>>load images automatically should be checked. Also check if exceptions are there!!

Uninstall and reinstall, as you have already suggested, should take no time if you've got broadband. Backup your bookmarks though.Cheers

Actually before reinstall, try Tools> Clear Private Data and make sure the Cache and Offline Website Data are checked and then hit Clear Private Data Now button. [If you don't want to clear History or Cookies or Passwords just uncheck these boxes]. Close and Restart FF.

Clearing the Cache fixes a lot of weird problems. If it doesn't help than a reinstall might do it.

And we have a winner! That did it. I had cleared all of that with Systemsuite, so I didn't think to do it with Tools.

Thank you very much everyone. I appreciate your help more than you know.

Glad it worked! It is surprising how easy it is to clear everything (cookies, history etc.) but miss the cache. I've seen it on many threads and it often helps with browser problems.

I had cleared the cache too, but apparently systemsuite missed some, lol. Lesson learned. Thanks for your help sach.
