just wanted to let everyone know of a GREAT experience with a company..........MOEN.........
they make plumbing fixtures, faucets, etc
after 7 years my kitchen faucet started dripping if it wasn't shut off just the right way.
I take digital pictures and travel into town to visit local LOWES.
(this is a plug for Lowes also)
I look around and find 2 probable replacement parts, but can't determine which is the right one.
I find an associate who tells me.....just call MOEN and they will send you the right replacement for.......FOR FREE. rather than spend 20 to 40 dollars here at lowes.
What do I have to lose?
    Today I call MOEN
Recorded message says that I will be called back by a representative within 1 hour and 9 minutes because lines are all busy helping other customers.
40 minutes later I get a call MOEN.
It is automated, but after one button push I get a live person(who is obviously american, or fluent in english, don't want to offend) who asks me a couple of very simple questions about the faucet.
I explain that I live quite a few miles from a large town and that it costs me quite a bit of money and time to drive back and forth. All I want is the correct part number so that I can fix the drip by purchasing the right part the first time.
He tells me, don't worry, there is a warranty on all our products and we will send you the correct part absolutely free......................free?
    you've got to be kidding.
He asks me what my registration number for the product is.
I tell him I have never registered the faucet with MOEN because I don't have a manual or anything else about the faucet. I only know it came with the house.
He asks me what the part number is.
I don't know what the part number is. He walks me through a couple of easy steps and we locate the number.
He tells me: Okay, so now Mr....... I'm now going to register this product so you can get service in the future (asks name, address, etc)
We'll ship that out to you today via usps. If you would like to recieve it in 2 days you can pay for this service.
No usps will be just fine
    UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was on the phone less than 5 minutes.
Just thought they deserved a plug.

We put MOEN in our new bathroom and love it. Can't wait until we get to do the second bathroom and kitchen.

With all the bad service you get now days from companies who obviously don't think they need to be nice to customers, it's refreshing when you actually do get good service, isn't it? It's sad how surprised and pleased you are when it happens (I know it is for me, anyway).

That happened to me a few years back with Williams Sonoma. I had gotten a trash can (yes, a trash can. A very expensive one, actually) from them. The mechanism that made it work broke. I ended up speaking with one of their customer service reps who spent a long time with me on the phone trying to find the order since I didn't have the receipt. I actually was willing to pay for the part I needed replaced. She sent me an entire new lid out for free. I was so impressed with her, I told her I wanted to be transferred to her manager so I could let them know, which I did. :)

Yay on getting your part AND good service. :)

A few months ago my Logitech MX700 mouse charger didn't work anymore after a little over 4 years' use There was a 5 year warranty on it. I called Tigerdirect to purchase a new mouse because I didn't have the receipt anymore. I asked for specific specs of the Revolution mouse and they transferred me over to Logitech in the USA Customer Service there asked for me for the receipt and I told them that I didn't have it anymore. He said I was to send back the mouse to them (without the batteries) and they would replace it with the Revolution mouse for free, no warranty though!

Had to call them back because the supplied software caused a great problem. Taskbar, everything was all gone. They gave me the instructions on how to fix it without having to re-install the software.

Too bad that I can't use the software since I'm just way too scared that the same thing could happen. Additionally, there is no middle click function on that scroll thingie, bad for Firefox's use.

Still a happy camper because the scrolling is extremely fast and have a new free mouse.

    lol :-D
Most people think it is an onomatopoeia, shouting in celebration as in “whoot, there it is!”. It originates from several places, apparently, including a hacker term meaning root/admin privilege or the call "Wow! Loot!" in gaming. It is not clear which is the primary/dominant origin, if there is one.
