Great News: This just in...

    I have recieved a proposal from the first web dev job I interviewed for and I think I'm going to accept it. About 1k less than what I'm making now but may include bonuses.. WOOT! 2 weeks paid vacation, discount at a gym .. I think I'm going to like it there :) :D :D :D :)

    ps. one think that has always struck me is that you over the other side of the pond dont seem to get many paid hoildays... is only 2 weeks the norm? only mention it as I get 27 days + 8 public hoildays and most of the UK get at least 20 days paid hoildays.

    2 weeks is the norm. most holidays are implied. so 2 weeks plus christmas, new years, thanksgiving. It usually goes up from there.

    @Halo. Here in BC, we start at 2 weeks. Then after five years that goes to 3weeks. After that you're on your own. Union contracts tend to allow more vacation time. I'm non-union and I get 4 weeks. We also get 9 or 10 stat holidays per year.
