green hard drives

i remember hearing WD was going to come out with supposed "green" hdds that needed less power, whatever happened to that?

also how much faster would this operate and would it give off any less/more heat than a 320GB 16MB sata3 western dig hdd?

Hi

Oh I have one of those, and yes they did release them, mine is the WD10EACS Couldnt tell you on the power consumption as I dont have anthting to measue that, the quietness, well its really quiet and would be great in a Media Center PC, as for temps, well its running at 28c at present and PCs been on for 6hrs and has 3 other HDs either under it or on top, do have gaps between and 2x80mm fans in front though, but other HDs with are 2xWD Raptors and another WD had are at 37c for the raptors and 34c for the other HD.
