Greetings to everyone! please help!

i shall educate..
i have a computer now!!!:celebrate
and my dear lama(my mum!) has been sending me all sorts of things from this site...she tells me to make my computer healthy, mind you i was unaware they could be sick!
but anyway all i want to do is watch 1 of my favourite movies..Porky's on my comp. ................and it is just not happening..........
i have windows media player, but it tells me i need a dvd decoder installed....
i recall being able to stick a dvd in and just press play....it should not be this complicated and frustrating!!!!!!!!! i tried searching for this special tricky item....a million and 1 things come up....then they dont seem to work when i download them and now i want to throw this comp out the window...,
please help, Thank you kindly!

 

i did try...when it said it was downloaded i clicked open then it started...then tells me the folder of some install file was not found...

 

Sorry Halo don't mean to undermine you or anything ... but Dad put some Codec Pack on Mums computer and screwed everything up ... it was a "Windows Essencials Codec Updater" EXACT SPELLING - NO MISTAKE ... I removed it and installed VLC Media Player, they haven't come across a file they couldn't play since!! - ... VLC Media Player ... -
