How is everyone? I read Gary's thread, and that broke my heart. I hope everyone else is safe and mostly sound?

Been busy as hell. I work 9-6 m-f and since I take a bus, i leave at 7 get home around 7 and EVERYTHING is blocked at work, so I'm sorry I'm never around. I got hooked on WoW so when I get home I usually have to make dinner, pick up and then I kill pixelated bad-guys to relax. Then it's bed-time and I get to do it all over again, so I'm sorry I've been neglectful.

Working for the insurance industry, taking calls for the company proper when the agents of the world break the program. It's pretty much high-brow tech support. Oh and billing. Can I tell you how much I hate billing? Yeah so that's really boring.

Kahlyn is 6, going on 7. Lost most of her baby teeth, is in first grade, and is thankfully finally on medicine that makes her less likely to make me kill her. If that makes anyone here feel old, it makes me feel ancient.

I've been in a good relationship with a geek (what else?) for about a year. Well, one year last Sunday. He got me into WoW and I bought him kinex, Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex and Stargate if you need an appropriate level of geek. He writes Macros to sort and edit reports for Eckerds distribution. Good times.

I may keep this one, so if we do that horrible marriage thing you're all invited and I want upgrade parts and/or money. Thanks.

Not really drawing, had my website under contrcution for month, and not to much else but work going on. I think most people can relate. So that's the whole update, if you aren't asleep yet gimme the update on you or introduce yourself.

Good to see you have steady employment and partner. Good for you - you deserve it, and a whole lot more to come.

Yeah, I'm still pretty much in depression mode Re: Gary, as well. In hindsight, I do wish I'd been a lot more communicative in the last year so, but we always knew where each other were coming from, anyway. Been a real bad 12 months or so for deaths and departures for me, but that's another long story, entirely.

It may do you some good to get onto your graphics work a bit, as it will 'prolly help you unwind, and I know you have a real talent in those areas.

So Kahlyn's six already, huh. Seems not that long ago I was looking at pictures of her in diapers. Or maybe I'm just getting old. I trust she's doing well at school. She always was a bright one (like Mom, eh).

Well, no... she's below expectations across the board, but she has a lot of difficulties she's trying to overcome and as the year progresses she's improving. So its a start. everyone knows she's smart, but her behavior is so bad she can't do what she has to do... It'll all even out soon. At least we think we know whats the matter with her, it's just a matter of getting a good doctor to look at it.

Turns out she may have the family curse, bipolar disorder with possible schizophrenia, and since she's had so much early-life trauma between her deadbeat and her medical issues that she may be child onset bipolar. Runs down both sides, and Kahlyn has every symptom there is, which would explain ALOT... it's not good news, but it's a direction. My poor little girl... I was hoping she'd miss that... She's under a lot of stress, her dead-beat got married and has one on the way and she HATES her step-mother, and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. She screamed at the woman that she hater her because she took her daddy from her and now this baby will do it too. So... counceling it is.

They dont make parenting books like the one I could write, lemme tell ya...

But... this too shall pass. She's a tough cookie and i'll make sure she gets through all of it.

I'm sorry that you've had alot of losses. I can't really relate because I've never lost anyone to death, and I hope that continues for a while. Hell, i still have all my grandparents. I know all about the depression though... You just have to give yourself a reason to get up, and it all seems to work out. But sometimes, finding that reason is the whole problem. Been there too. I hope you come through it ok, and you're in my thoughts.

 

Hey Wenchie!!! long time no see. I'm happy to see that you and Kahlyn are doing well albeit the things considered with her behavior. Sooner or later it has to all come to a conclusion of some sort but it sounds more like it will happen when she's older and can communicate better.

On a side note.. what WoW server are you on? I'm on Emerald Dream as Imranai

Hmm...yeah, I do recall she had/has some behavioural problems that you were trying to sort out. I did a stint in Psychiatric Nursing, way back in the mid-eighties, and Bipolar and Schizophrenic tendencies are two of the most common mental health disorders in society. It is more unusual for the symptoms to manifest so early, most common age bracket is late teens(ish). But recognising the disorder allows one to understand it, and goes a long way to developing an effective treatment/management strategy.

My son had A.D.H.D. syndrome, which peaked between about two and three. By five, he wasn't too bad, and now does well in what little I know about him. Main thing is, not to listen to the know-alls that know nothing, and try and tell you it's because of bad/dysfunctional parenting - bah!

Yeah, Kahlyn was always bright and full of mischief. I still have a few pics. that you posted of her covered in spaghetti, and other stuff.

I just went another funeral Friday week ago. The guy died if cancer, and had only just turned thirty. Another really great guy. Yeah, life does suck at times, but at least the suffering is done (by him, anyway).

As for my family, I'm pretty much out of the loop regarding them. Not my choice, but I'm pretty much stuck with it, for the moment.

I hope that work and love life continue to go well. And gland you still have a family support structure in your parents and Gran's.
