groove shark safety

Hello, I wasnt certain where to post this but I have been introduced to the online music on groove shark and was wondering if there is any possible harm in listening to music from this site.

Hi

As far as I know Groove Shark is fine with no issues, but normal security preferences apply in that keep all your apps, Windows, and security apps fully up to date.

http://www.grooveshark.com/dmca is worth a read as the RIAA have sought to remove this application/site... Apple iirc have removed the GS app from their app store, likely under pressure from the RIAA... I don't think the company is acting illegally as they state they pay royalties, but its up to the user to decide, I personally use Zune for my music.

I tried Grooveshark but now I like Jango
It seems it is officially an internet radio but you can create your own stations (playlists) etc
I really like the feature that drops in a song you might like based on what others with similar musical tastes also like. Great way to discover new artists and you can skip the song if you don't like it.

You have to join and accept their newsletter to enjoy all the benefits but they only email me about once a fortnight and it is sometimes interesting.

I haven't read of any safety issues with Grooveshark or Jango
